Website Development Chair for CFTK
A new opportunity to do something great! This post covers my goals and ambitions for the position that I will occupy for 2019-2020.
As someone who grew up in a developing country, I often witnessed poverty on a very large scale. On the bus to school every morning, I would see dozens of children lying on the streets with no food or resources to sustain them. The question I kept asking myself then and now was "What can I do to improve the lives of these people?"
Carolina For The Kids is an organization that strives to imporve the lives of children. Each year, they organize a dance marathon whose proceeds go to the UNC Children's hospital. Their work really inspired me. I am really excited to announce that I have accepted an offer to be the Website Development Chair for this organization. To me this represents a very unique intersection between technology and social good. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to support this organization and further it's mission through my work on their website!
My New Position as a TA
A brief announcement of my latest accomplishment! I will be joining the 110 Team for the Spring 2019 semester and truly look forward to it!
I am really thrilled to announce that I will be joining the Teaching Assistant team for COMP 110: Introduction to Programming at UNC - Chapel Hill. COMP 110 is one of UNC's most successful courses. It is by far the most well funded course with the Departartment of Computer Science granting the course $100,000 for the Spring '19 semester.
As of right now, I have taught over 600 students the TypeScript Programming language. With an amazing team of over 70 TAs we have worked together to make the course a memorable experience for our students. My responsibilities have included organizing review sessions, planning a hackathon, and holding office hours for our students.
I hope to continue working with this amazing team to spread knowledge of Computer Science throughout UNC!
